The first point that Jack Lemon shot down was the point made about the knife. The one gentleman stated that the knife was one of a kind and then went on to say the store that the boy said he bought the knife from did not remember him purchasing it. At this point Jack Lemon pulls out the exact same knife and slams it on the table causing the other jury members to see that the knife was not one of kind. This was the point that showed the other jury members that their might be other things that might have some skepticism surrounding the evidence against the boy on trial.

When they first voted on whether the boy was guilty or not and Jack Lemon raised his hand for not guilty and explained that he was not saying the boy was not guilty but he felt the boy deserved to have it discussed. He then went on to explain his view that it was a man life they were dealing with. I really admired his ideals and his thoughts of how to handle the matter at hand and hope there’s a person like him in every jury across America. Jack Lemon’s character was the most important and powerful in the movie. He didn’t let others bully him into breaking into their irrational views. He stood by his beliefs and picked out every little idiosyncrasys about the trial that he saw and then proved it to the rest of the jury. When I first saw him and he was just staring out the window I thought maybe he was a little to far out in left field, but when he spoke his mind I could see immediately he was a very rational man and intelligent man. At the end of the movie my views about him had not change a bit might had admired him even more.

One more point that found was really important Jack Lemon’s character made was the fact that the boy could not remember what movie he saw. He also could not remember the names of the actors in the movie when the police interviewed him right after he found out about his fathers murder. Jack Lemon then questioned the fourth jury member about what he had done over the past few days. The man could recall about four or five days after that he could recall that he went to the movies with his wife but he could not remember the movie or the actors in the movie. This detail was important to show the other jury members that it is very hard to remember things especial after a traumatizing experience. Jack Lemon then went onto explain that jury member had not been traumatized and he had trouble remembering what movie he had seen.
