This is shown when Dawson and Downey meet with Lieutenant Kaffee .I believe that this quote means that true men listen to orders that are given to them and will accept the consequences for their actions.
The first time in the movie when this quote is supported is when Daniel Kaffee meets with his two clients Dawson and Downey. Dawson was convinced that he didn’t do anything wrong, all he did was follow orders and if following the orders that were given was wrong then he will accept the consequences. A major theme in A Few Good Men is honor, and there are many instances when honor is portrayed in this movie. In order to be in the Marines you must follow a code and part of that code is to have honor. Dawson and Downey showed that they had honor but Jessep didn’t show that he had honor according to this quote. Even though Dawson was dishonorably discharged he still had honor according to this quote because he dealt with the results.
