Abortion
What would you do if you found out right now that you were going to be a parent? Would you keep the child, give it up, or abort it? We’re going to explore the latter choice. Abortion is definitely a two-sided argument, Pro-Choice or Pro Life. You are either for it or you aren’t. Let’s examine some of the facts from each side. First we will start with Pro Choice – those who are for abortion. Here are some questions of an unborn baby: That child could have been a doctor, a teacher, or even the next president. It’s not the child’s fault it was conceived, so why should it endure the punishment? Why is it that if a drunk driver crashes into a pregnant woman and the fetus is killed, it is considered murder… but if it’s on a doctors table it is OK?
Now we will look at Pro-Life, those who are against abortion. Do they take into consideration rape or incest? In rape, it’s definitely not the mothers choice nor mistake to make that child. What about teenage parents? Do you honestly think that most teenagers are emotionally equipped to handle a son or daughter, much less financially? They are still kids themselves, going to school and starting their life. If they are held back by a child they will both suffer – so why put the child through all of that misery? Or consider the possibility of that child having a terminal prenatal disease, why bring him into the world just to suffer? There is also a possibility that the child being born may kill the mother, is it okay then? I did not write this speech to convince you one way or the other, but just to ponder these words before you would make your final decision.
