Employment Relations in Singapore

Employment Relations is defined as the relationship between the management and the employees of an organization. Everyone needs to work and find jobs to make a living. Management employs staff to carry out tasks and duties in jobs, pay the employees a wage for services rendered, and in return the employer gets his returns from the products and services sold by the company.

Using the GUM Tripartite model, a very important influence on how companies were to work to any environmental changes. A change in the environment will cause changes in the nature of relationships between employer/management and employees. In this assignment, I have decided to consider 2 environmental factors, namely, Technology, Social/Demographic.

Firstly, Technology. Technology has changed the way we have lived our lives tremendously, and it is only natural that it will also change the way we work and our relationships with our bosses. The introduction of the internet, electronic mails, have drastically changed the lives of people and this includes the working environment and employment relations.
