Analysis Of 10 Children's Plays
Title of the play: Goldilocks and the Three BearsGoldilocks desires to go for a walk in the woods, she then desires to make herself at home in a cottage she stumbles upon that happens to belong to the three bears. I like the way that Goldilocks is very outgoing and curious about the three bears cottage in the woods. I also like that everything that Goldilocks does is very innocent, she is a great character for children to portray, and easy for children to relate to as well. I dislike the way that Pappa Bear is portrayed. He is portrayed as a sexist man that is in control of the family, which is not common in the modern world now. The woman and the man are very much equal today. Goldilocks is not very well like by the three bears. The bears are alarmed to find a young girl who has ate their porridge, and slept in their beds. The bears feel as though they have been violated in some ways. Goldilocks is very innocent in her wrongdoing. She feels as though she had
Hen found a wheat sack and rushed to tell his friends, because he was so excited. He asked each of his friends if they would help him to plant it, and each replied with a no. So Hen decided to plant it on his own. After planting the wheat he decided to weed the garden, he thought he would ask his friends once again if they would help him weed the garden, and once again they replied with, no. So Hen weeded the garden by himself. After weeding the garden the wheat had grown so Hen was going to make the wheat into flour and bake bread. Hen asked his friends if they would like to help him bake the bread, and they replied no. Hen baked the bread himself. After the bread was done Hen sat down to try his tasty bread he worked at so hard, and at that moment his friends all smelled the aroma and stopped over to see what smelled so good. Hen said to his friends, “Wonder who will help me eat this bread?” Hen’s friends all replied, “ I will!” But Hen replied, “No, you won’t. I did all the work. I get the rewards of that work…this bread.” I like the fact that Hen works hard throughout the whole play, even thought he is not getting any help from anyone else. I really like the personalities of the other animals too. I think they add humor to the play, because they are so lazy. I dislike the ending. I think that it would have been nice of Hen to share it with his friends even though they didn’t help. I think that maybe next time they would have reconsidered helping him either way.
