Monarchies, also known as a single person powered government, ruled both the Egyptians and the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman ruler was referred to as a sultan and was acknowledged as the legal successors of Mohammed. The ruler in Egypt was known as a pharaoh and was considered to have a god’s blood. Both the sultan and the pharaoh were the head of the entire empire and military. To protect Egyptians from invasion, or defrates, they held a more steady government that upheld it’s natural boundaries.

Considering that both empires had a long and decorated history its’ only logical that they have some type of art to represent their empires. The Ottoman Empire built bridges, mosques, and palaces (Microsoft). Their carpets were the most famous throughout Europe and Marco Polo noted the fine quality of Turkish carpets in his writings in 1271 (Turkish). In Egypt the pyramids hold a variety of art like great paintings that tell stories or hieroglyphics, statues, and pottery.
