Time Period: Present (chapters 1-11)

• Bryon- Main character of the story. He is who the story is mostly about. He is a really good pool player, he’s 16 years old, he looks like a baby-faced kid who wouldn’t know one ball from another, a hustler, and he also dated many girls. He also has a big and husky body with dark brown hair and eyes.

• Mark- Bryon’s best friend. He’s been living with Bryon almost his whole life after his parents shot each other during an argument. He has gold hair and strange gold eyes and slight, tense body.

• Charlie- The 22 yr. old bartender of the bar/pool hall. He is the brother of one

Chapter 2- After school, Mark and Bryon went to see his mom in the hospital. When he saw his mom, she had a smile on her face. She told them about the kid across the hall, Mike Chambers, and how he had no visitors, so she wanted Mark and Bryon to visit him. Bryon was going to meet with him later, so he went to the snack bar.
