Lord of the Flies Reflective Essay

The novel Lord of the Flies contains many different scenes in which you can portray yourself. What actions you use when you portray yourself can differ very much from person to person. I will address what actions I would use in specific scenes throughout the novel. The scenes I will use to portray myself in include the confrontation between Jack and Ralph over Jack not helping build the huts, the confrontation between Jack and Ralph after the first kill, when the fire goes out, and when piggy gets killed.
The first situation deals with the first confrontation between Jack and Ralph, they should go about handling the situation in a different way. If I had been Ralph in the situation I would have tried to work out a schedule with Jack. The schedule would consist of him being able to hunt, but he would also have to spend a certain amount of time during the day helping Ralph and Simon build the huts. This schedule would last until the building of the huts were completed. I would also try to include Jack in trying to help me create some more discipline among the boys. This situation could have been handled in a lot better way, rather than just yelling and screaming at each other. They should also have tried to work on the huts on the huts right after they got done arguing, instead of running off to swim.
The second situation deals with the other confrontation between Jack and Ralph, they should also go about handling the situation a different way. If I would have been Ralph in this situation I would have handled the situation in a very similar way that Ralph handled the situation. I would have been very upset at Jack and the twins for letting the fire go out. I would have got into an argument with Jack. The only difference in the way I would have gone about dealing with the situation is that I would have got the boys together to help decide on how to discipline Jack. I would have somewhat of a trial.
