The importance of maintaining correct protocol and Military

The importance of maintaining correct protocol and Military bearing on and off duty, is essential because to show disrespect to an NCO when in uniform could cause disrespect among civilians about the military in general. Any disrespect towards my leaders, from team leader on up to Sergeant Major of the Army, along with the Platoon Leader on up to the Army Chief of Staff, or the President of the United States, can have a negative effect on the Morale and Welfare of those around me, junior or senior. If a Soldier who is junior to me sees my behavior, he may believe that I, being a Specialist, am right because I outrank him. Then this soldier is also doing the same things I am because he thinks he can. Now because this behavior has been passed on, the leaders will have a harder time dealing with their soldiers. Now the leader is as stressed as I am. This should include leaving non work-related issues at home, and away from the workplace because they can get in the way of performing my duties as a soldier, especially when the disagreement is with another soldier, or an NCO. My problems with an ex girlfriend should never get in the way of my duties, no matter how I may feel about the duty at hand. Of course I also realize that no matte

matter how we get along as individuals, our Platoon, our Company, and the Army are a family of sorts, no matter how dysfunctional we may be. I must come forward with my personal problems. If my leaders don’t know what’s going on in my life, they can’t help me fix my problems. From now on I will try to bring myself to come forward with my problems to my leaders so they can help me reach a solution. I now understand that I can come to my leaders if I have problems, even if it’s just to get it off my chest. I know that my leaders will take the time listening to me, maybe because they have too, but mostly because they care. Name-calling is childish, and problems should be taken up with that person in the privacy of an office or room where no one else is present, in a calm and adult-like manner, as this prevents future problems, feelings of anger, and disrespect. I am a Specialist, a rank earned by showing that I have the knowledge to “specialize” in my field. I may not be a team leader, but I am a junior Non Commissioned Officer, which carries certain duties and responsibilities. I had to ask myself, ‘If I were a team leader, would I want my soldiers to treat me like I have treated others?’ NO! I would want my soldiers to treat me with respect and dignity. I know the way I acted was unacceptable and should be dealt with appropriately. I was not in the right frame of mind at the time because of my personal problems and I am trying to find ways of taking care of the
