It is absolutely important that every aspect of human cloning be taken into careful and close consideration. If this is not carefully reviewed the entire world may be in danger. The cloning of humans can benefit in many situations and can help save lives. The downside of cloning is the question of whether it is ethical or not to clone a human? For years, clones have been dreamt of but the technology was just not there to do it. But now the cloning a whole human being really seems possible. In addition, the World Health Organization, a part of the United Nations, has called for a total ban on the process. In January of 1998 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that any projects to clone humans would need FDA approval. In 1997 President Clinton took independent action and ordered a widespread ban on the federal funding of human cloning in the U.S., and also asked privately funded scientists to abide by a voluntary moratorium for at least 90 days . The government knows that not everybody will abide by this because they are all looking for that big break and what would be bigger than cloning a human?

Private researchers abuses of human cloning also have social ramifications. The issue of experimentation is not dead in human cloning. While one aspect of cloning is the desire to create a superior human being, another is to create potential suppliers of spare parts, this through therapeutic cloning. Some experts say that cloning would be justified to replace a dead child or to help save someone dying of an incurable disease through an organ or marrow transplant . For example, parents might decide to clone a child that was killed in a car accident. Again, the issue of whether the child is fully human with all the same rights are at issue. Also involved in that case is how the child will be treated. Would it forever be a second class sibling, cared for but not loved as a true child?

Another possibility is the idea that someone of great intelligence or ability should be cloned so he or she can keep giving their knowledge or ability to the world .
