First, God made Adam and Eve to be the first parents to create saints to fill heaven. With love from the parents God created children to be taught and taken care of. Anything out of the norm interferes with God’s plan and is immoral. Every human exists spiritually and intellectually before they are conceived. God makes males and females, which are equal and unique by the joining of genetic material from both sexes. Cloning has no genetic combination of male and female. It includes two mutilated cells, one without a nucleus and a somatic nucleus. Cloning violates natural moral law and is degrading because it treats humans as material (“Human Cloning” 1).

The character of human nature would possibly be in danger by cloning. Humans are not perfect which requires them to learn, forgive, understand, and love. Why make perfect people (Tauzin 1)? Sooner or later, the only wanted children will be the ones who fulfill the needs for each individual’s acceptance. Cloning could give everybody the child they wanted that would fulfill the perfect identity of the child that would be accepted (Kass 151). If scientists can change embryos to get rid of diseases then they could change them to enhance human abilities (Green 1). It would lead to genetic tailoring of offspring because of changing the embryo’s genetics before development. For instance, the color of eyes, genetic resistance to diseases, abnormal strength, and high intelligence (“Con: Anti-Cloning Research” 1-3).

Second, cloning could help couples with a disease not transmit it to their offspring by analyzing the embryo genetically before it’s implanted. Gene therapy can also help by replacing the defective genes to eliminate Tay-Sachs, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and Huntington disease from family trees (Green 4). Cloning can reverse damage from diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease (2). Information on cells obtained from cloning research could help stop the division of cells that would terminate cancer (“Pro: Cloning Supporters” 1). Scientists will be able to grow organs form animals that wouldn’t be rejected by the human body (“Pro: Cloning Supporters” 1;Green 2). Cloning would enable scientists to replace skin on burn victims and replacement of nerve tissue for spinal cord injuries. Opportunities to help others should persuade people to think twice about restricting cloning research (Green 2).

Third, a clone is a person because the share all features as non-clones. They should have the same moral status and protection as others. For instance, it would be the same to take a clone’s organ for a non-clone as a non-clone’s organ for a clone (McCarthy 4). Anyway, existing laws would protect clones from exploitation, so clones wouldn’t be used for organs any more than humans are (Green 5). Kantian ethics states that autonomous means to be able to act from reasons. For example, a slave would count as being autonomous because it only depends on psychological evidence. Clones wouldn’t be autonomous if they lived impoverished lives, which that statement would be false. Clones would be biologically functioning so they would be autonomous in Kantian sense (McCarthy 4).
