Cold War
The U.S. and Soviet Union were the single most important rivalry of the twentiethcentury,but their first meeting was as a partnership. This was quite ironic because of the fact that the Germans were taking over Europe, in turn forcing the two,otherwise not compatable countries, into a non-hostile relationship. Once Hitler and his regime was destroyed, they found that each had it’s own views and they were completely different from eachother. The two nations had completely opposite ideologies from their economic system to their political system. The changing relationship has evolved from a mutual partnership, a possible world war and now finally a steadying friendship. The entire world had watched as the Cold War went from moments of silenced fear, to hours at the brink of
many agreements. Then finally the Soviets could hold their sphere of influence over the for fifty years, and caused the peace. Both sides kept reducing stockpiles of arms through could still destroy all or most of the major centers in Russia.
