Scientist these days can do just about anything. From finding new Galaxies to cloning a human, but the earth and all it is detail is no work of a scientist, it is the work of the greatest artist there is. God’s creation was made from scratch and can never be duplicated and what seems to be happening is that we as humans are having enough problems keeping the one earth we do have beautiful. An evangelical declaration on the care of creation gives us an insight on how God calls us to care for his creation and yet we continue to degrade it. During my time of doing all the readings, I came to the realization that I, along with a lot of other people, do not take well enough care of the creation that I have been blessed to be a part of. The declaration is a good piece of work that every Christian should not only read, but live by.

Ghillean T. Prance works as a tropical-rainforest specialist and through his research he sees about 1% percent of the rainforest disappear every year. He feels very strongly about the human responsibility of taking care of creation because according to this chapter “tropical rainforests cover about 7 % of the land surface of the planet but, yet harbours about 60% of the species.” As Christians or even just as humans we can’t allow ourselves to sit back and watch this happen.
