The song states to young children that, you, as the owner of Barbie, can make her perform. “You can undress her anywhere, you can brush her hair, and you can even run your fingers through her blonde hair.“ These words send a powerful double meaning to young girls listening to this song. I feel this sends a very powerful message to the girl’s who idolize this Barbie doll and worship her image of the All-American Girl. Barbie is an image to many young girls, and this image is not a good healthy image. Women are degraded by the image Barbie portrays in this song as she gets a man’s attention by begging on her knees. Her image that a woman must be perfect, her hair must be neatly brushed, and to get something all she has to do is to beg on her knees.
