Drugs

The world today has so many people abusing drugs and not actually knowing what the affects are of each one. They believe uppers and downers are basically the same things, but they are not. I believe the two most popular drugs today are heroin and hallucinogens. They are alike in many forms but also differ a lot. Teens today don’t really understand what these drugs are and how they really affect a persons brain and personality.

Teens today are using hallucinogens all the time, yet they have no idea what they are putting into their body. Hallucinogens are also known as acid, ecstasy, mushrooms, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), etc. These drugs can be taken in many forms such as pills, liquid, powder, food forms, etc. Let it be known that according to a study done in 1999 only one percent of teens use hallucinogens on regular basics and 94 percent of teens have never used a hallucinogen before. Hallucinogens increase the heart rate and blood pressure which can lead to putting you in a coma or can even cause heart and lung failure. Hallucinogens alter how the brain perceives time, reality, and the environment around them. It affects they way they think, hear, see, and react to situations.

Hallucinogens are easy to develop a to

Although I just went over these two specific drugs need I remind you that no drug is good for you? Teens today do them basically just to fit in or because they think they have to because it’s the only way to have a good time. These drugs take peoples lives and destroy them making the person someone they didn’t want to be. These are not the only drugs that do that I can list many more but I found these two to be the most important. With just a little more facts today being put out by teachers, parents, etc. maybe teens and adults will choose a different path to go down. Always remember you can have a good time without all the alcohol and drugs only if you choose that way.

Slang, smack, horse, mud, brown sugar, junk, black tar, big h, dope, skag are all different names for Heroin. Although to study’s done in 1999 only two percent of teens reported have only tried it. Still I believe it is important that it no one should become addicted. Heroin is used in a few ways one: smoking it, two: sniffing it, three: shooting it. Yet, there are probably other ways to use it. Heroin is highly addictive because it enters the brain rapidly; it pretty much affects the part of the brain, which is responsible for physical dependence. Heroin enters the brain so quickly that it slows do
