After spending an entire week within this three-walled prison that an employee guide calls a cubicle workspace, most are in dire need of rest and relaxation. Now that the workweek has come to a merciful conclusion, it is time to relax and enjoy the spoils of nature. Plans for a Saturday morning outing that may last but a few hours but will be remembered for a lifetime. With all of the stress that people endure in these modern times, there are few outlets left. Fishing is a means of catching food with unlimited re-creational experiences with nature.
One of the benefits from fishing is that it generates a healthy lifestyle. If one is stressed; fishing could be an ideal time to go into the great outdoors and commune with nature. In this modern day the escape from the technology and a return to more simplistic ways is a much-needed release. Along with a return to nature, fishing is a great way to take time to relax. It is a proven fact that people who find a release of stress and fatigue will live longer and healthier lives. A fisherman will often spend hours just watching the bobber dancing in the water, waiting to see if the crappie bass will take the minnow. Fishing can also offer a chance for some n
eeded exercise. One will often walk along the banks of the pond in search of the right spot to fish. Seeking out the next prize fish to catch can cause a lot of walking, bending and stretching if one is in the mood to search them out. Fishing also exposes one to all types of nature.
A day-spent fishing unites a person with nature. Just spending time fishing you will encounter a myriad of fish in the pond. Sitting on the edge of the dock, you will spot the small bluegill perch as he swims in search of a bug or worm. The Grass Crap searches the shallow waters in the heat of the day looking for some moss to feed on. When fishing one can spot fish at various stages in their life. From the little “fry” or newly born fish to the “elder” fish, which move slowly in the early morning. Just as interesting as watching the fish one can also take time to watch other animals come to the pond to drink. The timid deer will come to the pond just before first light to quench their thirst, since they have been feeding all night and preparing to bed down. All during the day large bullfrogs will announce their arrival in search for a mate. The ever-present red tail hawk is always on the prowl for any field mice or rabbits, which come to the waters edge. On a rare of occasions one will spot a opossum or armadillo that is coming for a late drink of water since these animals are nocturnal. Down at the far end of the pond is the large beaver dam located next to their home. You will enjoy spending countless hours watching the young beavers playing in the water
