Getting The Products Out The Door
In America, it’s not enough to put your merchandise in a store and hope it sells. You have to get out there and find ways to make people want it. You have to make them feel they need it. In the next few pages I will be telling you a few techniques on how to make them come running for what you have to offer. Advertising, subliminal selling, persuasion, and humanizing your strategies will come in handy when dealing with customers. One way to get your products out is by using skills known as subliminal selling. Subliminal selling is defined as techniques that enable you to sell costumers your products and services without their thinking their being sold. Using subliminal selling helps you to identify and communicate with a persons thoughts, so they buy more quickly from you, and say “yes” to your offerings nearly every time. By using subliminal selling skills to help you identify your customers buying patterns and filling their needs, your amount of sales closed will go up to nearly 100%, because you are helping them buy what they want. “People buy from you when they trust you. To earn your prospect’s trust, you must know him as well as he knows himself.
Another good way to get your customers to pay attention is to use humor in your advertising. “Humor, in short, provides amiable acceptance. Isn’t this the number one thing we are seeking in advertising? Humor establishes an atmosphere of give or give in, instead of belligerent defense,” (Herold 09). Let’s move onto selling a sense of roots. One-way to accomplish this is to produce an ad tying home and mother into the selling themes. The one line everyone knows is “Just like your mother used to make”. This is a great example of selling a sense of roots. Another good example of subliminal selling is the use of colors. The best color to use is blue, because it is the favorite color of the majority of the United States. Do you think that K-Mart has a blue light special because one day some vice president said, “My favorite color is blue, therefore, we will have a blue light special”. K-Mart knew that blue would make a huge impact on the customers, so they also put it in the logo.
