Gender Gap
I believe that there is somewhat of a gender gap in areas of politics and public policy, but it is by no means the most prominent factor in determining the political agenda. Studies show that women regularly giving more support to Democratic candidates and causes than men do; it shows no signs of expanding or shrinking. Differences between blacks and whites are obviously much larger; and so are those among educational and income groups, among Americans by their level of religious participation, and between union members and non-unionists. If one was to study these differences, they would find that many of them actually are the cause of the gender gap. For instance, an African American woman has an extremely high tendency to vote democratic. This is also true for marital status, and the tendency for a single woman to vote democratic. Both of these examples have an effect on the so called gender gap. This gender gap may be following a pattern that began taking shape in the 1970s when the woman’s movement gained full force.
