Madiq Alley
I love foreign films. I went to Blockbuster to rent a film and Madiq Alley stood out. It was hard to follow at first and started in a domino playing bar. When we combine sentences, we need to make sure they fit together. The fact that the story is hard to follow does not fit with the setting. It tells the story of three peoples lives, divided in three sections, which all occur at the same time. First, we meet Rutillio, the bar owner. Rutillio is a man who appears to be secure and manly. He is married and has a son named Chava. Chava works in his father's bar and is best friends with Abel. Abel, the bartender, is in love with Almita. Almita is a beautiful virgin with a horrible mother. The story is a break down of love. Rutillio's son catches his father in an awkward situation with a male. He goes ballistic and almost beats the man to death. Chava runs to Abel, who is with Almita, and tells him what happened, and that they have to leave for the United States. Abel is beside himself. He loves her; he doesn't want to leave her. He goes to her, tells her what
happened, and that he has made the choice to leave. He makes her promise to wait for him. He promises that in a year, he will come back to marry her. Almita agrees to wait In response to being caught, Rutillio puts up his defenses. He beats his wife, threatens to kill his son, and denies that he is bisexual. His wife informs him that Chava will not be returning. He breaks down. He thought he hated his son, but the fact that he will never see him again makes him realize what he has lost. Meanwhile, Almita's mother makes her date an older man and agree to marry him. Before they wed, he dies of heart attack. While outside "grieving" she meets Jose Luis, who unknowingly to her, is a “high class” pimp. She falls into his world and becomes a cocaine-addicted hooker. Her family and friends all know where she is, they just don't care. They pretend that she ran away and has never been heard from since. The ending is significant. Chava returns home after two years with a wife and child. His father is bitter and doesn't want anything to do with him, until he sees his grandson. In r
