Women took the opportunity to educate themselves about ways to prevent pregnancy at a meeting on Monday at Western Michigan University.

The program was an informal discussion designed for women students put on by Women Speak! A program that explores issues that are central to the lives of women. Women’s resources and services, a unit of student activities and leadership programs sponsor the program.

The meeting answered the question of what’s new in preventing pregnancy, besides the pill and condoms.

Speakers Heather Riley, a sexual heath peer educator at Sindecuse Health Center, and Joy Brychta, RNC, women’s health nurse practitioner and Director of client services at Planned Parenthood, educated and answered questions during the meeting.

Women Speak! is sponsoring two more discussions on women’s health for this semester. One will be held this Wednesday at 7:30 at the Bird Cage on Women’s Sexuality. Another will be held at the Bernhard Center at 7:00 on December 3 on the topic of Women’s Relationships with Men. For more information call 387-2990
