The program was an informal discussion designed for women students put on by Women Speak! A program that explores issues that are central to the lives of women. Women’s resources and services, a unit of student activities and leadership programs sponsor the program.

The meeting answered the question of what’s new in preventing pregnancy, besides the pill and condoms.

Speakers Heather Riley, a sexual heath peer educator at Sindecuse Health Center, and Joy Brychta, RNC, women’s health nurse practitioner and Director of client services at Planned Parenthood, educated and answered questions during the meeting.

Women Speak! is sponsoring two more discussions on women’s health for this semester. One will be held this Wednesday at 7:30 at the Bird Cage on Women’s Sexuality. For all abortions performed at Planned Parenthood patients must have counseling prior to the abortion, sign a consent form, and have an exam.
