Hewlett Packard is a company that offers new technologies and research to businesses and homes around the world by providing the best in service, products and sales. Hewlett Packard offers some of the best in customer service and puts forth full effort in helping their consumers. They are focused on providing their customers not only with the best products but the best quality in helping their customers. Customer service is a top priority in Hewlett Packard’s mission, and they put forth the fullest effort in fulfilling that service.

The company of Hewlett Packard was founded in the year of 1939, and now has over 88,500 employees worldwide that fill more than 540 sales and support offices, and distributors in more than 120 countries. The corporate headquarters are located in Palo Alto, California. In the year of 1934 college graduates from Stanford university Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett take the advice of their college professor to start a business and to try to make it on their own.

Their company believes that the customer need to be satisfied is very important and that it will happen if all involved put forth full effort into the service of their product to their consumer. They need to understand customer needs and listen to their customers wants and questions. To keep their customer satisfaction they feel it is necessary to supply them with a quality product, with good performance, and a long lasting quality. Quality equals satisfaction, and to ensure this HP is dedicated to finding the best manufactures with the best materials at the competitive costs. “Our fundamental goal is to build positive, long-term relationships characterized by mutual respect, by courtesy and integrity, by a helpful, effective response to customer needs and concerns, and by a strong commitment to providing products and services of the highest quality, value, and usefulness.” (HP. HP believes that having a large company is not always important only when dealing with sales and profits. With out growth their company would fall under the rest and eventually disappear under all the competition. Growth is important in order to attract and retrain customers. Customers want a product that will give them opportunity and progress for the future. On the global market growth requires being placed from every angle in the world and allows them to have sufficient growth and profit to keep their company moving forward.

In the 1960’s HP broadened into the medical and analytical instruments, along with developing its first computer, the HP 2116A, which meant that they were in the computer business since 1966. Overseas expansion continued in 1968 when it expands into Asia with a Japanese venture. Hp became one of the best places to work for and was recognized as a well-managed company in 1969. In the 70’s technology keeps on advancing with the introduction of the first scientific hand held calculator that created the era of portable computing devices. Also they began a venture with china taking many trips across seas to try to work on some type of agreement with the country. News in the U.S HP opened a manufacturing site outside of Palo Alto. This decade was marked by a major growth with HP passing the one billion mark in sales in 1976, and would pass the two billion mark in 1979. Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard decide to give the day-by-day management operations to John Young.
