Indian Movie

The three movies I selected to review were “I’ve Already Given My Heart To You,” “Some Things Just Happen,” and “Some Love Stores Never End,” all of which are Indian movies, directed and produced by Yash Chopra. I have always enjoyed watching his movies. They are truly one of a kind and no other Indian director can compete with his movies.

The first movie is called, “I’ve Already Given My Heart To You,” (2 ½ hr.) starring Salman Khan, Ashwaria Rai, and Ajay Devgan. This is one of the best Indian movies of all time. It was a BIG hit at the box office. A brief summarization of what this movie is about: It’s about three young adults who experience love for the first time, and at the end they realize what the meaning of true love is. Salman, a young man who comes down to India from Italy in spite of learning how to sing. The father of Ashwariya is his teacher, and he allows Salman to stay at their house for this course. During his visit at their house, he falls in love with the beautiful Ashwariya Rai. The beginning of the movie is filled with little lovey-dovey scenes, humor, and eye-catching outfits and dances. The setting is beautiful, and the dance choreography is outstanding. During the middle of the

movie, the parents find out that Salman and Ashwaria have some kind of love relation that has been going on behind their back for the past few months. Therefore, her parents banish Salman from their house and made him promise never to come near Ashwaria ever again. With that, Salman went back to Italy, and Ashwaria was left traumatized and heart-broken for a long period of time. Her parents decided to get her married with a rich man, Ajay Devgan. Even after getting married, Ashwaria never approved of her husband. She never talked to him or even looked at him, yet Ajay was a very patient who managed to deal with her attitude. He, at first, thought maybe she didn’t want to get married or maybe she felt sad that she had to leave her parent’s house. But later on the movie, he finds love letters, which Salman had written from Italy, to Ashwaria. He then found out that she had loved someone before him and that she still loves him. He was very shocked and disappointed at first, because she never told him the truth. However, despite all of this, he took Ashwaria’s hand and went out in search for her “love.” They spent several weeks in Italy, trying to find Salman. After going through many emotional and physical hardships, Ajay finally found Salman. He let go of Ashwaria’s hand, and turned his back away from them, and began walking out of her sight…out of her life. It was then when Ashwaria realized how much he loved her. She realized the true meaning of love. He fulfilled his part as a husband, and now it was her turn. With that in mind, she said farewell to Salman and came running back to Ajay. This movie captured the audiences’ hearts and left them in tears of happiness and sadness. The audience could feel the emotional distress pain that the characters were going through. Speaking of the characters, they did an outstanding performance. I would definitely rate this movie a 10, from a scale of 1-10. Not only was the movie a great success, but the soundtracks were off the top. Excellent music composed by A.R. Rehman, one of the most well known, and truly amazing, Indian music composer. Even though this is an Indian movie, I would recommend it to everyone (with English translation). A must see movie!

Lastly, “Some Love Stories Never End,” (4 ½ hrs) starring Amitabh Bachan, Sharukh Khan, Aishwaria Tai, Jimmy, Raj, Sunny, Kim, Kiran, and Priya, directed by Yash Chopra. This was an interesting
