Over all white- collar crime is more serious than street crime because the term “crime” is not used correctly by society and society tends to say white- collar crime does not fit into the definition of crime and is not as serious a crime although, the definition includes white- collar and all crime. Also, it affects a greater number of people than street crime due to the fact that it could affect the economy or even the world. Also, the fact that white- collar crime is less heard about does not signify that it is less important. People cover it up and therefore less people know about it including the media. I think that if society changes its definition of crime and realizes that white- collar crime is just as big of a problem and as serious as street crime then we can get more people to try to stop it and inflict punishment on the people who commit these crimes.
