Racial issues is a world-wide problem in the modern day, this is also the case in the time that Langston Hughes wrote his poetry. The United States was going through hard times of segregation issues between African Americans and Caucasians. Although this problem still exists somewhat it’s people like Hughes that brought it to attention that no matter what your race is be proud of who you are because we are all created equal.
