Recently Constable Willie Shands paid my class a visit to speak about the police and the history of police and why we didn’t need them at the start of the 1800’s. this talk was very interesting because it will help me with this essay.
The “Police” ensue the arrangements made in all of the civilised countries to ensure that the inhabitants keep the peace and that they obey the law. The law applies to the police as well. We need the law enforcement for lots of different reasons such as violence on the streets. However the police are also needed for the society. The police have aims to help everybody and everything in need of it. Back in the early 1800’s we didn’t police because people lived in villages, so there wasn’t much trouble. In the 1840’s cities were established, these cities got larger and larger until they were crammed. People got angry and they didn’t have enough space to live.
