Intel Vs. Amd
In the world of computers there are two main companies that come to my mind, one is AMD and the other is Intel when a consumer intendeds to purchase a microprocessors. They alone dominates the computer processor industry ever since I can remember, other companies have come and gone but these two are the ones that have maintained their status. I will be comparing these two companies websites in order to give a non-bias opinion on their general appearance to their consumer market. Even though we all know that AMD is by far better manufacture than Intel, but you don’t have to take my word for it. When opening up the two web pages, the two basically look the same, big logo on the top with a few random pictures of their products scattered across the page. Intel’s site is divided into categories that separate their various product markets, such as home computing, business computing, communications, and reseller options. This all looks normal except for the reseller options, but with closer investigation I realized that there was just a listing of their authorized sellers of their products. Other links give you are merely options to view information about the company; such as, listing jobs, press information
AMD’s site seemed much more professional than the Intel homepage, since AMD doesn’t develop as many products as Intel. Their site is driven more towards their processor line, displaying a list of their newsiest CPUs and ways in which their product can revolutionize the business world, such as web hosting. Generally AMD is more of a product first and services later kind of feel, they want to show you the newsiest products they have, rather than dividing their products into category first. Their site has a more professional feel to it, with a greater level of structure compared to Intel’s playful approach. The site is direct and to the point, very professional and organized. There are the normal press releases, and similar media exposure displayed. However they seem to be more directed to showing the consumer their corporate financial reports, and how their company is structured. The color scheme is an imperial green, which gives it a very stern and professional feel to it. The AMD Corporation has been growing rapidly in the past ten years; they have been the underdog behind Intel. For a wile they were known to produce a better performing processor, however the name was not as well known as Intel and had to do everything to show that their product was superior. AMD was born in Sunnyvale California in 1969, with numerous factories in the United States, Japan, Europe, and Asia. The acronym stands for Advanced Micro Devices. AMD is a large producer of microprocessors, flash memory devices, and support circuit for communications and networking applications. The company started out supplying its Flash Memory chips what were used in electronic devices, it remembers information when the device is turned off and stores it until the next time it is turned on. They later started to produce computer processors for computers and were the first to unleash laptop x86 processor. Since then they have been coming out with processors that are smaller, more efficient, and cheaper than their competitor Intel and also have had fewer problems. Between these two co
