Segregation has been a part of America’s history and continues throughout today. In the 1940’s or so, blacks and whites were segregated in every public setting. It addresses our nation’s history, which was greatly troubling, and it has captured the struggles of a young boy that even I can’t comprehend sometimes. The book makes you think about your own life and how good you have it. People need to take more time to say thanks and appreciate what they have, and not gripe about what they don’t. Then the world will be a better place to live in, even for people like Gregory Howard Williams.
