Professional baseball athletes should receive a lower salary and place more emphasis on the “love of the game.” Even though some may place more emphasis on the “love of the game,” most participate for the money that is involved. Money in sports is an emotional issue among professional athletes and spectators.Professional players are supposed to bring an audience. All over the United States spectators line up to ballparks to watch and discover entertaining ways of play. In essence, professional baseball players are similar to actors, as they are full of drama. When professional players play for the “love of the game,” they are bringing these attractions to sports. So why worry about so much money when you have thousands of people wanting to back you up and chant your name? Should professional baseball players be paid so much? Do they deserve it? Professional baseball players are the “best of the best.” They train throughout their entire lives to make it to the “show.” However, when they do, some do not play for the love of the game. However, they are professionals after all and some “deserve” it. This statement is what most people say and I don’t agree with it. Does a doctor receive a bonus check if he or she completes three surgeries in one day? No. If professional athletes play a good game, then why do they receive bonuses and endorsements, while a doctor doesn’t for saving three people in one day? Instead, a doctor gets congratulated on his success and that is sometimes enough for him/her. Teachers and counselors really should deserve more money, because they teach everyone’s children and counselors save kids from committing suicide. And it is professional baseball athletes who expect more money after hitting three homeruns in one game. The color of money is green, and “jealousy the green-eyed monster” would represent it. For example, if one baseball player received five million dollars more than another, then the other would play a horrible game until that issue was resolved. e not competing at the highest performance level.
