Marriages Portrayed In The TV World

Even though the marriages on TV are very different from marriages in real life, there are some similarities that are present, and these similarities are what tie the "non-realistic" to the "realistic," and make these kinds of shows popular and appealing.

Marriage in this type of show specifically, is almost portrayed as a joke. It seems that most every character in the sitcom has been with one another more than just once, and having a marriage that lasts is rarely seen. Once a couple does decide to get married the drama begins, and does not stop until the wedding; you have bitter ex’s trying to get their old flings back, parents who do not agree with the marriage, brothers and sisters fighting over the soon to be spouse, the couple themselves fighting due to the old flings that appear, and most dramatic, the ones who come forward about the cheating or dishonesty on the day of the wedding.

Beyond the obvious soap opera cliché, if a marriage does continue on, it is an extremely sweet one, the characters seem to be in love, and the show makes a connection to the people who watch it. Most every person longs for love, and if they have not found it yet, there is a sense of completion, in their

For about a year or so in real life, two or three in TV, one of the longest lasting relationships on the show was between Nicholas and Sharon Newman. These two had got together when they were young, fallen in love, and had since gotten married. Their relationship seemed to have the obvious up and downs like most people do have, and it was nothing serious. They went on in the next couple of years and had another child, they had a child from before the marriage, and life seemed unstoppable for the two. You could see in their eyes, the way they sparkled when they looked at each other and they seemed very much in love, almost to the point of staying together, possibly forever.

Diego had not told her yet, and come clean. She immediately went and talked to him, and he tried to make excuses, but she was not taking them. She had been so hurt, that she told him to get out of her and her family’s lives forever. She then went over and had a little chat with Sharon, herself, and as you may have guessed, that did not go over so well. About a week later, their parents found out what was going on, and Victor put out a hit man to kill Diego. But, he did not succeed at killing him, just critically injuring him, and in doing so brought Victoria back to him. She forgave him and they now are back in love.

This story is still not over yet. A couple of days after Nicholas found out, he himself went to Victoria and told her everything. She too was dumbfounded, more so at the fact that

After living with this secret for almost a month after the deed was committed, Sharon had built up so much guilt that she could no longer keep up the lie and she told Nicholas everything that happened. He was dumbfounded and immediately upon hearing the news, he packed up his things and left. In doing so, he has not only left behind Sharon but also most of all, their kids, Who do not know what is going on. They have now built up hatred towards their father because all they know is that he just packed up left them and their mother hurting.

About a month ago, Sharon and Nicholas were going through some rough times. They seemed to be going through the obvious marital problems, and her sexual desires were not being met, so what else is there for her to do? Why, go on and get them fulfilled somewhere else. Not only did she j
