Marijuana

Have you ever thought about what it would be like if Marijuana were legal? Marijuana, also known as, herb, Mary Jane, cannabis, hemp, green, etc, is a popular drug in the United States. Since its ban in 1938, the topic of legalizing marijuana has been a controversial issue. Opponents and supporters of the drug have debated for years its importance. Antagonist of marijuana claims the drug is the gateway to other more potent drugs. Advocates of the hemp plant understand the potential of making the herb readily available. Legalizing marijuana would provide numerous benefits to society. Among these benefits are medical advantages compared to other drugs, a reduction in the crime rate, and a boost in the United States economy.

Medically marijuana as a controlled substance would be a more reliable drug than those often prescribed. And the effects are far less than those of legal drugs such as alcohol and tobacco. Marijuana is an herb with hundreds of medical uses. It has been known to help ease gla


Similar to its medical and crime advantages, marijuana also has beneficial financial advantages. The United States government could tax the drug and legalization would produce new jobs. The government would benefit off the taxes it could impose on the herb. If there were taxes on domestic marijuana and tariffs on foreign imported marijuana like those on tobacco the government could gain a new source of revenue. When legalized new products such as “Mary Jane 100’S” “Chewing Marijuana” or “Dipping Marijuana” could arise, a whole new industry will be born. With this new industry new companies will be formed and new jobs will be created. This will bring more money in this country and help lower the unemployment rate. Therefore a United States with legal marijuana would be a better United States financially.
