II. Introduction: The concept of personal freedom means the ability to choose one’s lifestyle activities and peruse those activities without hindrance from other individuals or the government. The government is expected to, and does impose restrictions when it’s in the public interest. When the pursuit of an activity by any individual either restricts the personal freedom or causes harm to another, the government will intervene with legislation to restrict such activity. As Americans personal freedom is of utmost important. We elect government officials to protect this freedom, which ironically results in more limitations on our freedom. Government’s role is to balance our freedom with public interest. Hunting is a controversial personal freedom that I would like to evaluate.
