Essential Needs

Nothing is greater than the world of professional sports. What red-blooded American male has not stood in awe of the great ones? To watch Michael Jordan on a fast break topping it off with a mind blowing slam dunk, Barry Sanders breaking though what would seem like and endless supply of defenders to make an eighty (80) yard touchdown run or Mark McGuire with his 75 homeruns in one season, few can deny the greatness of these athletes. This is a craft that they had to be taught, natural ability does play into it, but they had to be taught the fundamentals of the game. They did not wake up one morning and decide to play professional sports, it was instilled in them at a young age, in little league sports. It is here, at a young age that children will learn the things that are essential for a successful life. Things like hand-to-eye coordination, teamwork and physical conditioning are what a growing child should be taught rather than haw to play a video game. Organized Little League sports are essential for the following three (3) reasons; teamwork, hand to eye coordination and physical conditioning.


The second thing that makes little league sports essential is that it teaches hand to eye coordination. While some people are born with natural grace and balance, others have to be taught; even the naturals need to be helped along. Scientist have studied for year and have agreed that the hardest thing in the world to do is hit a baseball, this is what needs to taught in little league. Without hand to eye coordination, we would have a generation full of people that can not walk a flight of stairs or brush their hair. Without little league baseball we would not have had the homerun race between Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa that revived the game of baseball. This needs to be taught before the word win is ever said, and as a whole it is being taught in little league.

People argue that little league sports turns into naked aggression when in truth it is the parents trying to live though their kids that turn this wonderful tradition into a tragedy. Winning is important in life and must be taught at a young age, but not before the value of teamwork, body control and being physically fit.
