Hinduism is a major world religion. In fact, it has over 700 million followers. Hinduism is basically defined by what people do rather than what they think. These people believe in reincarnation. This is when you die, your body goes into another living being. So in other words you do not really die, you just live another life.
The ultimate authority for all Hindus is the Veda. The oldest of the four Vedas is the Rig-Veda, which was composed in ancient form of the Sanskrit language in Northwest India. This text, probably composed between 1300 and 1000 B.C. and consisting of 1028 hymns to a pantheon of gods, has been memorized syllable by syllable and preserved orally to the present day.
