Kashmir
There can never be peace when nations take unfair advantage of being strong against weak. It is a threat to humanity and peace. There have always been territorial disputes all over the world, but most of them have been solved in a noble way. One of the unsolved, long-time disputes is in South Asia is ‘The Kashmir Conflict’ between Pakistan and India, which has remained tentative for more than half a century. The main question arises here is that should India control Kashmir. And the answer to that is, India should not have any control over Kashmir because Kashmir is a Muslim majority state, it is also essential for Pakistan for its national identity and Kashmiri have the right to choose their own government. India’s unreasonable determination to make Kashmir part of India even though they don’t have any right to control that piece of land which leads to the fact that India is responsible for the Kashmir dispute. The first reason is that Kashmir is a Muslim majority state and India’s forcible occupation of the State of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 is the main cause of the dispute. India claims to have signed a controversial document, the Instrument of Accession, on 26th October 1947 with t
people of Kashmir and demands the promised elections in Kashmir. The Kashmir conflict is perhaps the worst territorial struggle in the whole world. This has become an International issue that also poses a threat to the world peace, as both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers. There have already been two wars between these two countries over Kashmir and the third is very close with a possibility of nuclear exchange. Pakistan is the member of United Nations and it claims that Kashmir is an international problem that the world must fix. UN had not been effective in this struggle, however they did interfere in 1949 and came up with some of the important resolutions, which arises the question of the accession of the State of Kashmir to India or Pakistan will be decided through democratic method and there should be fair amount of freedom in Kashmir, until its decided that who will govern Kashmir. As we have seen that Kashmir dispute is nothing but the tyranny of Indians over the Kashmiris and the desperation of Pakistan to overcome the Indians, we could conclude that if Pakistan takes the steps mentioned in the above paragraph, then there is a great chance that Pakistan would be able to assure their good will and could also get hold of Kashmir. It is easy to see both, how Pakistan can regard Kashmir as having been stolen from them and how the Indians can claim they were saving it from Pakistani aggression. Regardless, of the Indian claim that they were saving it from Pakistani aggression, they have never been able to produce the original copy of the Instrument of Accession on which they based their Kashmir intervention and proved the legal right to intervene in Kashmir. Kashmir was considered a ‘heaven on the earth’ but now everything has been uniformly destroyed. This Kashmir dispute has lead to the bitter hostilities between India and Pakistan and has also led to an arms race in South Asia with a possibility of a nuclear war. The world must step up now and overcome the Indian Tyranny. that their country was incomplete without Kashmir since the two regions are inextricably bou
