Marathon
The New York Road Runners Club opened a marathon Thanksgiving Day on November 22 called Turkey Trot held in Prospect Park. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to registration which was held in an elementary school a mile away from Prospect Park. By the time I got to Prospect Park it was almost 9am and the race was about to begin. The New York Road Runners event coordinators told me to just run it because it was only a “friendly race” and said when I’m done maybe they can help me out by giving me a Turkey Trot shirt or something. It was a beautiful warm and sunny morning which was perfect for a marathon. The marathon was full of runners. Definitely in the hundred range. At 9am I joined the crowd at the start line and ran with them. Everybody was full of energy and prepared for this 5 mile run. They had jogging gears, shorts, tank tops, head bands and anything you can image.
