***********Within each myth is a vast variety of symbolism along with a number of motifs which are often shared between cultures, despite vast geographical differences. As wide as geographical boundaries may seem, the myths that exist in different cultures exhibit a common thread of understanding. Within this, creation myths are clearly different from those??????found in any other type of myth. In my opinion one of the goals of a creation myth seems to be to satisfy the need humans have to seek out rationalizations for the phenomena that occur in our world. I believe that curiosity and the search for an explanation that we can somehow prove are perhaps the main goals of creation myths. In general it seems that humans have trouble just accepting their existence and the existence the world and cosmos around us. Humans seem to feel the need to rationalize the existence of everything around us and inside of us, and somehow “prove” how it all how it all came into being. I believe that this is perhaps one of the main reasons each civilization created myths about the creation of the universe as they knew it/understood it.
