Of Mice and Men: Dreams

"Everyone in the world has a dream he knows can't come off, but spends his life hoping it may.
In this essay I am going to explore a central theme of "Of Mice and Men": dreams. In the novel "Of Mice and Men" dreams are a central theme as all of the main characters have dreams. I will consider the dreams of three of the main characters and whether they are fulfilled and the reasons behind why. I will also consider what makes a dream and I will analyse my own drams saying whether my drams are achievable or whether they are hopelessly unrealistic.
A dream is an ambition or target that people make up and would like to achieve in the future. People often have dreams, which are very unrealistic and unachievable, but still they have these aspirations that they hope will come true. On unachievable dream is to become a chicken in later life. However people often have realistic, achievable dreams that often do come true. One achievable dream is to live until you are seventy years old. Dreams are made, most of the time, in my opinion, to motivate people so they have something they think will come true to look forward to.
I have a few dreams. One of my dreams is to sky dive. I have wanted to do this for a long time, and I do think that this dream is achievable. Another dream I have is to be one of the best session drummers in the world. I want to become a session drummer for about a year because the pay is very good, but most importantly I really enjoy drumming. I try to keep this dream achievable by practicing my drums everyday and showing off my talent whenever I have the opportunity. I do think that this is an achievable dream. Another dream that I have is to inspire world peace. It would mean a lot to me if this dream were to come true as there is far too much hatred, fighting and problems in the world today, and I think that world peace would make the world a better place to live in for everybody.
