National Socialism

Adolph Hitler once said to his chief of staff Otto Wagener, “Jewish Volk is the parasitic race among the human races. Jewry always marches as those who live as parasites-that is, who are intent on having others work for them, so that they can lead a carefree existence. This is why we must discard of them as quickly as we can, so they do not feed off of us any more” (Turner, page 205). Adolph Hitler is the main reason why the world has National Socialism. National Socialism is a form of racism, or most commonly called Nazism (Tonser, page 15).

To understand National Socialism, you first need to be aware of the history of it. The first origins of National Socialism came from the after effects of World War I. Hitler was a fierce fighter in the fighting of World War I and played a big part in the war (Encarta Encyclopedia). After the war, Germany was charged with the sole responsibility for the war. Germany’s political and economical life was seriously disrupted as a result of this. Then in 1919 the German Workers’ Party was formed. Hitler was only in prison for a little less than one year, but during this time his party had slowly fell apart. The main reason for this was that the country’s economy had built itself up a little bit. During the next few years Hitler had slowly rebuilt the party, and in 1926 he made himself the leader and also began to build his own military. Then in 1929 the world economic depression hit Germany. This opened the doors to Hitler’s party, and for them to begin to take over the country. Many people began to support Nazism. It promised economic help, political power and national glory. Another reason why people began to support the party is because of Hitler himself. Adolph Hitler is known as one of the best speakers of all time. He was able to captivate an entire audience for several hours at a time.

In 1944 Hitler’s military began to weaken. He began training boys that were only 14 years old, but this still did not strengthen his military, and in 1945 the United States, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, and other ally nations defeated Germany, and the Nazi government collapsed.

Today the problem has not disappeared. It is not as outrageous as it was in Germany between 1919 to 1945, but it still does exist. The new group is known as the NeoNazis. These are people who do not accept a certain group or person, and do not think that they are worthy of life, and feel that they are a menace to the
