The article explains the importance for each municipality to resolve the mentioned above problems through strategic planning to minimize their threat to the inhabitants" health, the environment and urban productivity. .
             Another web page "The State of the Environment", which represents part of the book "Global Environmental Outlook - 2000" gives an overview of the current state of environment in urban areas around the globe. Due to the multiplicity of urban problems in different parts of the world, it is impossible to thoroughly evaluate the whole site in one paragraph (as specified in the assignment). For this reason, the overview will be limited to the current environmental state of African cities alone. Africa is experiencing the highest urbanization growth in the world.
