3. In the Osiris myth I can find similarities to the Christian story of Moses. Horus represents Moses because he is taken to a safe place away from the king and he will someday avenge his father’s death just as Moses returned to save his people. Osiris and Set represent good and evil in the culture. Osiris is the good king who loves his people and is fair to them. Set is jealous of Osiris and plots to kill him so that he may rule Egypt. Osiris weighs the dead on a balance just like his testimony had been weighed by Thoth. Isis saves Set because she is suddenly overcome with great sympathy for him, and the consequences are that Horus becomes infuriated and fights his mother eventually cutting off her head. It says that humanity is greedy and they were probably promised when Set would rule as king. Most anybody will do anything for the right price.
