On Friday night, only the person with the coolest car drives the group. Lucky for me I would soon be that kid, because when that night would come, I would have the car of every high schooler's dream. Any car over 300 hundred hoarse power is the ticket to fun times out with your friends, but its hard to keep the big picture in focus, when your car can easily reach 100 miles an hour before a blink of an eye.
With summer fast approaching and graduation finally looking like a reality, what else was a group of seniors ready to graduate going to do on a Friday night? Go out and have fun was at the top of our list, and second to none on our minds. My dream was finally complete and now was my chance to shine. It had taken most of my high school career to finish my project car, a car my grandpa gave me when I turned 15. It was a '65 Corvette Stingray, in need of restoration and a lot of parts. It had everything any male could dream of, with its ultra lightweight and with the giant engine stuffed under the hood, it was easy to see why the engine compartment made up almost ¾ of the cars total length. "All it needs is a little TLC and a whole hell of a lot of money!- my neighbor always told me. "When you get your vet finished we can have our cars pictures taken together, if yours could look as good as mine!- .
It needed a more help than a little TLC, because this car was trashed. My dad always laughed about that car, about what it looked like before. He always would say something like, "Well here's a plus for ya, it already went through the sand plaster and its been pretty much striped so you should have it done in a week."" He always was a comedian about anything he didn't understand. He himself didn't know how to tackle this project, with no interior, an engine that needed to be completely cleaned and resealed, and a body that looked like a demolition derby car it almost looked impossible.
