Alfred Hitchcock The Rope
The movie rope is based on a real life incident that occurred. It is basically about two young men who commit a murder just to see what it's like. The plot line revolves around the men committing the murder and their old school teacher becoming suspicious of the crime. Alfred Hitchcock used a lot of different tactics in this movie to make it suspenseful. The movie wasn’t really frightening, I don’t think its main objective was to frighten people. However I think that the movie was really suspenseful and there were a number of different things that helped add to the suspense. The whole atmosphere in general helped create a suspenseful mood throughout the movie. There was a great use of music in this film which helped add to the suspense of the movie as well. There was music leading up to significant events and both the volume of the music and the tune would change depending on which part of the movie it was. The music was well adapted to the different scenes and it really helped add to the whole mood of the film. The film wouldn’t be as suspenseful without the music. The whole piano playing in the movie was added music. Whenever Phillip would get nervous he would start playing the piano. One point in the movie that the m
Alfred Hitchcock built up this story slowly and this also helped add to the suspense of the movie. He starts the movie off with an interesting beginning in this case the actual murder and then the rest of the movie builds up slowly making it more suspenseful. The beginning tells what the movie will be about, but the ending of the movie isn't given away and the watcher is left to think and want to know what will happen at the end. It helps create a suspenseful mood. Since the movie builds up slowly it doesn’t give too much away at any point, it keeps you hanging and anxious to know what will happen at each point. Therefore I think it was good that he built the story up slowly. The film was made in such a way that the audience really becomes involved with the stories. There are very strong emotions portrayed in the film. I sympathized with Phillip, because he was so nervous and scared that I felt bad for him, even though he committed a murder. Then it also makes you feel bad for the family of David, when the keep talking about how worried they are but he must be fine. So at certain points we felt strongly for the murderers, but at other points we felt strongly against them. So all these emotions we felt for the characters helped make us feel more involved in the movie. The way the movie was made in general makes the audience feel into the movie. All these aspects help make Alfred Hitchcock's, Rope a more suspenseful movie. I think it was a very suspenseful movie and I really kept wanting to know what would happen next. I didn’t want Phillip and Brendon to get caught,
