There is no use for a alarm clock you are up at 5:30 because you have been up at that hour for the past twenty years of you life. You wake up to the smell of moist salt air, the smell that drives you out of bed every morning. You walk out of the sleeping quarters, grab your cup of coffee and head out the galley door and step out onto the cockpit. You feel the 50 foot sport fish Hatteras gently rocking under you feet, the dock lines moaning as the are slowly pulled and stretched form one side to the other. The sun has just barley begun to rise and gives the sky a pale pink tint. Your mate comes out the galley door and without any conversation begins to prepare the trolling baits for the morning run out to chase a dream. At that moment you realize that is exactly where you want to be, you have been striving for this all you life. You have finally reached the pinnacle of your career. You push off from the dock and listen as the diesel engines roll and watch as the tourist from the dock look up at you as if you were and man of higher nature. They look up at you as if you have achieved something that not every man gets to experience. You are a yacht captain, your career is looked up upon with prestige and envy.
A yacht captain is something that I strive to achieve in my life. I have been around boats since I was able to walk, and maybe even before. I have worked on private yachts during the summer and have been training to become a yacht captain my whole life. I plan on getting my captain's license and I believe that a captain carries a title like no other, a title with honor and virtue.
A yacht captain is the person who runs a yacht. He is the main man in charge of the vessel, if he messes up then all the blame is focused right on him. He is responsible for making sure that all the task are done on time and they are done with precision. He is responsible for driving the yacht, which is not a easy task at all.
