Human Cloning

Cloning is one of the most controversial topics in the world right now. There are many cloning techniques that can be very useful. For example, millions of lives could be saved every year by therapeutic cloning. Cloning saves lives and species of plants and animals, and as long as it is used properly it should be legal. The government should push the legalization of cloning for the following ways. The three main reasons cloning should be legal are for therapeutic cloning, saving endangered species, and to produce better food.

The three procedures that cloning should be legal are for therapeutic cloning, saving endangered species, and to produce better food. With therapeutic cloning a sick person would get their tissue or organ from their own DNA. Thus, eliminating a waiting list, the person would not have to take immunosuppressant drugs for the rest of their life, and there would not be any danger of organ rejection ever again.

Certain species of animal and plant life are in grave danger of becoming extinct forever. Cloning

There are three different types of cloning embryo, adult DNA, and therapeutic cloning. The first two are basically the same in that they both take DNA from cells to duplicate offspring. Both embryo and adult DNA should only be used on plant and animal life. “The goal of therapeutic cloning is to produce a healthy copy of a sick person’s or organ for transplant.” Human Cloning Page. 29 October 2003

My rebuttal to this is very simple. The use of cloning in this form should be totally illegal. The cloning of humans like I said earlier should never happen; therefore there is no reason to worry about these issues.

could change all of that, no animal or plant species would ever become extinct again, and they might even be able to bring back some already extinct species.

There are a few organizations either for or against cloning. The Americans to Ban Cloning or ABC are obviously against human cloning. The idea of cloning tissues and organs to help sick people they are totally fine with, but they believe it should be against the law to
