Is the government doing too much to try and protect us from terrorists and other people who intend to harm others, or is our privacy being taken away? I believe that biometrics is a great way to keep Americans safe when they are attending sporting events, or from keeping fraudulent individuals from getting their hands on information they shouldn’t. As technology increases we should use it to keep people with bad intentions from threatening the lives of many innocent individuals.

There are also other ways to use biometrics there are digitized fingerprints, voiceprints, iris and retinal scans, hand geometry, and keystroke dynamics. These instances of biometrics will help so that just anyone cannot get their hands on confidential material. Not only will it do these things, but maybe more importantly it will greatly reduce the cases of racial stereotypes. No longer will law enforcement be focused on skin color, hairstyle, or manner of dress. While other ways of keeping people safe are intrusive, like metal detectors or long lines to get ID’d these new systems are out of sight and therefore out of mind.
Although there are amazing advantages it still has its flaws. It is possible for it to mistake someone’s identity. Not only that many people believe it is an invasion of
