The first article, “In a Male-Centered world, Female Differences are Transformed into Female Disadvantages,” talks about how women are not less capable to do what men do, they are just different. They are different from men in a “male-centered world.” Everything revolves around males, therefore all policies and practices fit men’s criteria and not women. Women have to struggle in this world because it is male based. The last article is called, “The Invention of Heterosexuality.” This article goes through this past century in a half and talks about how the term heterosexual came about, and what the theory and meanings of it were back then and now. I didn’t agree with the first part of this article when it said that the heterosexual did not exist in the early nineteenth century. Now the term might now have been around but there have definitely always been opposite sex attraction and sexual pleasure. It also said that sex wasn’t based on pleasure but purely for reproduction. I think that is a load of crap. I believe that way back when, they did it as often as they could and for pleasure, just like today’s society. Now they probably didn’t go around talking about it because back then it was very sacred and not meant for others to know about. The rest of the article I believe to be true. It is mainly facts about sex and heterosexuality. It was pretty boring to me, and I am really tired of talking about heterosexuals and homosexuals, not that I am against anything I just would like to move onto another subject.
