R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find Out What It Mans To Me

As we grow to become young adults the word respect is defined in many ways.

We are taught that we are supposed to respect other people, their properties, the elderly

and many others. But how can this one word mean o many different things?

In three separate dictionaries, respect is basically defined as a regard for or

appreciation of the worth or value of someone or something. In my opinion, respect goes

far beyond this definition. Respect is the cornerstone of the society in which we live.

In The New World Dictionary, the word respect (1211) means “ to feel or show

honor or esteem for.” In the American heritage dictionary the word respect means “To

feel or show deferential regard for; esteem, 2. To avoid violation of or interference with
