Purpose Of Man

“It’s 1997, I’m sitting in my room asking myself the question that will change my life. What is my purpose in life? At that time I was pretty sure that I was suppose to be a professional baseball player. But God had some different plans. That next morning I woke up to go to church camp. I was just recently saved and baptized so this Christian thing was a fairly new concept for me. I pretty much thought that that was all I had to do for the rest of my life and I could just go on living the way that I did. Well that week God changed my life. He showed me that I need to be a servant for him, I needed to obey him and trust that he will deliver me. So that He might be pleased and glorified.” In this essay will discuss what the purpose of man is. Man is to live for God in Holy Devotion and Service that God might be pleased and glorified.

God tells us that Man must have a personal relationship with Him and have the right understanding about Him. Take Paul for example, Paul had one of the best relationships with God in the Bible. He was persecuted, beaten and hated against. Just because He knew and talked about God. In order to please God, Man must have faith. But what is faith? Faith is knowing that Jesus is al

Well this whole essay started out with one question. Why am I here? Now Man can see that: if he knows God personally with right understanding, submits to Him in obedience to his will and worships God for his glory and honor. Man does have a purpose for being here. Which is man is to live for God in holy devotion and service that God might be pleased.

God tells us next that man should submit to Him in obedience to his will. Let’s think about this, shouldn’t Man be I complete submission so that God can work in his life. Well of course, if man is not in complete obedience to God, then how can he fulfil God’s will in his life? For example, in basketball people just don’t run around the court shooting the ball whenever they want to? No, most likely the team has a plan before the game that everybody on the team knows about. It’s the same way with God; He has an eternal plan for all of Man. Even though He doesn’t all ways make it so clear to people. But does that mean that we shouldn’t obey God’s will. Gods will for Man according to I Thessalonians 5:16-18 is that Man has a joyful life in prayerful communion with God. Therefore man’s duty is simply to obey God’s commandments and do His will.

According to Romans 1:18-25 and Hebrews 13:21 Man’s ultimate purpose is to bring glory and honor to God.
