There are many epics that are read and heard about in old-English mythology.The unknown Christian monk who wrote Beowulf introduced him as a boy and follows him into his death as a king. Through his battles with Grendel, Grendel’s mother, and finally the snake, Beowulf displays his development from adolescent to nobleman. Going into battle with Grendel, Beowulf was at the young age of seventeen.
