Animal Farm, Failure Or Sucess

The whole point of the rebellion was to live without help from humans and to stay away from their habits. Besides Molly, the dogs and the pigs, the animals generally followed the seven commandments. If it wasn't for Napoleon and his dictatorship, Animal Farm could have been a great success. When Snowball was thrown off the farm, everything went down hill from there. Little did the animals know that history would repeat itself, Napoleon and the pigs would one day become as bad as Mr. Jones. Napoleon used propaganda to convince the animals that he was right about Snowball being anti-Animal Farm, and that was only the first step. One thing led to another, and eventually Napoleon was sleeping in beds and drinking whiskey like the humans. Also, the animals didn't know it but Napoleon was running the farm using supplies from the humans, and the animals thought that the farm was self-sufficient. The other reason that animal farm was a failure was because the animals who did have enough intelligence to realize something was wrong wouldn't speak up about it. A good example of this type of character is Muriel. Muriel knew something was wrong with Napoleon's leadership but she didn't say anything because she didn't have enough courage to oppose him. Another example of a character like this is Benjamin. Benjamin was much smarter than the other animals and didn't believe any of the propaganda being spread by Napoleon. The only time he every spoke up about the others at all is when Boxer was carried off in the glue truck. He tried to warn the others about what will happen to Boxer and the animals do try to rescue Boxer, but it was too late. Although the rebellion was successful, the fact that some animals didn't speak up enough and the fact that the animals chose to believe in Napoleon lead to the downfall of Animal Farm.
